The big problem with the school choice movement is the way schools are funded. What pays for schools are LOCAL PROPERTY TAXES. If you live and PAY TAXES in a wealthy community then GUESS WHAT YOUR KIDS GO TO GOOD SCHOOLS!!!! Cause and effect. Rich area, more taxes better schools......... Now is it FAIR for children from poor community's to have crappy schools ? No. But on the other hand is it fair for people who have payed for their kids to go to good schools by paying their taxes to also have to pay for the education of children whose parents don't contribute to the " wealthy" school? What relay needs to happen to improve the schools is to fund the schools differently,so that the playing Field is leveled.

I saw the program too, and I'd say yes if we funded schools differently. As it is, I pay a lot of taxes for the schools in my county and in my town. Should my tax dollars benefit people who don't live here?

There are a lot of people who spend the extra to get a house in a good school district, and under this plan their kids could be crowded out by people who live in other areas. What does it do to the value of their house, when the good schools were a factor in that value?

I feel badly for the parents in the bad school areas, but there have also been studies that show the real benefit for students is having parents who care enough to make them study, help them with their homework, etc. This is one of the reasons that charter schools work. The parents cared enough about education to actively participate.

Yes because I am a sophmore and dislike my school so much. Everyone there makes fights and drama for no reason. The school is way to cramped and alot of the times people are late to their classes because of it. It takes like 5 minutes to get down 3 floors which isn't that much. In the winter the vents throw out cold air. And in the summer it blows out hot air. i don't like my school at all. I saw that 20/20 and i saw it on oprah.
