Oil, petroleum, black gold. Is it what cause's so many problems, just look at all the polution it creates from burning it, to spilling it. They say that just the oil that drips from cars in the U.S. in one day is equal to the Exxon Valdez spill in Alaska and it gets spilled alot around the world, especially from ship wrecks in the ocean, it is a dirty substance. Then you have to look at the money it gives to certain forces, People who use it for power from terrorist to politicians. The people who say we have this new world order coming point to old oil people who control it. From the old standard oil to all the oil conglomerates of today they wield power from behind the scenes and it breeds corruption. I for one say, lets get away from oil, find a way to not use it in your life, sell your oil burning equipment or use biofuels like vegetable oil, its alot cleaner and breaks down quickly, think about solar or wind power or a electric car. This is your chance to change course.

Driving electric is CHEAP. The electricity to power your EV is only about a penny per mile. Gasoline is around 10 cents per mile and rising.

I agree with you. Oil money is the life blood of American politics and hegemony. Oil is the substance that brought great wealth to the Rockefeller family. Wealth is what allowed the Rockefeller family to shape the politics of the world for the past 135 years through its international banking business. It was at the heart of our Iranian difficulties. In the present time, it allowed Rockefeller to plan for the development in for the construction of the World Trade Center. When it comes to oil and the ugly, nasty mess it has created, nothing has changed.
I agree, lets get away from oil.

The world economy runs on oil. If the enviro-wackos would disappear, we could build safe nuclear power plants in America and the Middle East would revert back to a bunch of powerless smelly camel-f*ers.

I don't think that it is the oil,land,precious jewels or any of the natural resources. Those things have been around longer than we have and will still be here after we are gone. Human Greed breeds the evils.

no, exploitation of natural resources is the motor of human evolution, the problem is, as time passes, there are less resources, and to some nations(the US in particular) their own evolution is more important than other countries stagnation
