I live in a trailer park came home and found a car had parked in my space in front of my trailer. We looked around for the owner (it was a rental)we did't find them so we pulled the car out of the way about 5 feet. They finally showed up (mormans on a mission) they were on the other side of the park in someones trailer. They apologized drove off and came back about a minute later and now they are claiming damages. They also told us thaat we should put up and sign.I said isnt our home sign enough? The only place to park our cars are in front of our trailer in our lot space. They came back two days later taking pictures.

Also it was like they were parked in my driveway if you look at it that way. there is our trailer and it is a double wide and the only parking spots are the two directly in front of the trailer between our fence that goes around the space we pay for monthly. the police were called and they wernt even going to bug us but our neighbor came over and told us so they took our statement. The mormans live about 2 hours from us and they drove the car home that night. If there was damage why did they drive that many miles home? If there was damage then they should have called for help.

Okay the parked in your spot so you moved that car. Dope. You messed with private property because it was your space. Unless marked as that you are screwed.

You never said the damage wasn't caused by you. Why not.

Sorry to say but you did not have any legal right to physically move their vehicle.
If it is a trailer park then you call your landlord and report the car and ask for them to have it towed.
Or if the park has private property signs up then you can call and ask for it to be towed.
But under no circumstances do you ever have the right to physically move anybody else's vehicle.

You are in the wrong.....

It would piss me off to if someone blocked my drive but the legal thing to do is have it towed or ticketed by the police. It is never lawful to take things into your own hands.

Ask the property owner if you can put up signs that say private parking violators will be towed for the future.
But as for this instance...........they have you, and can sue for damages.

Just ignore them. It was their fault for parking there in the first place. Talk to the park manager about having a towing co. move cars when this happens in the future.

If there was no sign then they are probably right. It would be the same as someone parking in front of your house on the street. If you actually damaged their car it is your responsibility but can they prove it?

They only way you can do anything is if the land that they parked on is yours. Then you call the police. Mormans are so rude.

I guess they thought they could park there. It wasn't clear enough to them that they couldn't. Your mistake was moving the car yourself. Perhaps you should have called the police.

Pray to God and... Get the manager of the trailer park and a lawyer... And next time...? Have it towed...
