I'm 6 weeks pregnant & last night when I used the bathroom I noticed when I wiped that there was a little light pinkish/tan blood on the tp. There wasn't much & I've not been cramping or anything. The next time I went same thing. It's not enough to show in my underwear just when I wipe. I called the emergengy room and they said that only being 6 weeks there was nothing they could do about it just stay home in bed until tuesday (since monday is a holiday) & call an obgyn then. Well the next 2 times I wen t to the bathroom there was nothing there. When I got up & went to the bathroom this morning I again noticed lome light pink on the tp when I wiped. Still there was nothing in my underwear. Should I go to the ER & get checked out just in case? I'm suppossed to work this weekend & called in today. Should I just call in the next 2 days, stay at home in bed, & see what happens or should I go ahead and go to the ER & get checked out? Is it implation bleeding or should I go get checked out?

It doesn't sound serious, but if you're worried you should go just to put your mind at rest.
I had that when I was about 2months preg, but I didn't go to a doctor because I was too scared (thankfully it was nothing)- but if it's going to bother you I would get checked out. :)

The ER can't stop a miscarriage from happening. Generally, if its six weeks, everything gets cleaned out and only if you retain tissue is further intervention done.

You could spend the long weekend in the emergency room just for reassurance and see a heartbeat on an ultrasound screen, but that only says something about the state of your pregnancy today, not tomorrow.

Generally, a little spotting is nothing to worry about, especially if it is within a few days of sexual activity.

That said, implantation bleeding would have occurred about two weeks ago so that is obviously not a factor.

Most miscarriages happen between 6 and 8 weeks, but the cramping and aches are unmistakeable and if you were having a miscarrriage, there would be a lot more blood.

Being pregnant isn't just about growing a baby. It's also about learning how to be a mother. That means learning how to manage worry, how to trust your body and to believe that eveything will be fine. I suggest that you use this time to meditate on those lessons rather than wasting your time at the hospital when the sick and injured need care more.

I do though, wish you good luck and a healthy pregnancy.

If you're six weeks, you probably should have implanted by now, but everybody is different. Did you have sex in the last day or so? (This is a serious question!) That can cause spotting because the blood vessels in your cervix expand during pregnancy and become more sensitive.

But with pregnancy, when in doubt, there's nothing wrong with getting it checked out, at the ER if your OB won't see you. Better safe than sorry. Best of luck!

I'm about 5 weeks pregnant and I went to ER earlier this week due to cramping & spotting. I didn't pass any clots or anything but the Dr's did admit me due to some other health concerns. The ER doc's did tell me that it is normal to have light bleeding or spotting this early in your pregnancy. They said not to worry if you're not cramping or having any pain. I wouldn't rush to the ER unless you started to cramp or something. But I would let my ob/gyn know at your next doctors appointment. Relax I think you'll be fine. Good luck!

I had some spotting that sounds exactly like what you're having around 6-8 weeks in both of my pregnancies. Everything turned out okay. I would give the doctor a call when you can and see if you can get in after the weekend. Take it easy in the meantime. Good luck!

If it is going to stress you out at all I would get checked out. This way you have peice of mind. If you decide not to just make sure there is not clots, tissue or cramping. If there is I would go straight to the ER.

A little bit of spotting is normal as long as it doesn't turn red or get real heavy. Also if you O- or A- blood type that might have something to do w/it also. I'm O- and have to get a shot to keep mine and the baby's blood seperate. I had alot of spotting until I got this shot. I would spk to your Dr. and see what he/she thinks.

Did your doc do a pelvic exam recently? That can cause some spotting because they are messing with your cervix and it is engorged with blood. It is up to you, your baby. But that happened to me when I was first pregnant.
