if you give someone something, they will never learn to do it on their own. If you teach them, if someday you arent there, theyll be ok because they will know how to do it.

I think the moral significance is that by teaching the man to fish you allow him to reach a new level in his abilities as a man, and becoming a purveyor of his own needs reinforces his dignity and self worth; and if this man pass on this teaching you have created a chain reaction for a greater good.

Ahhhhhh... the Republicans... Great purveyors of make the rich richer, and too hell with the poor.

Under this philosophy, the Republicans are trying to state that if you give a man the skills to do things for himself, he will become self-sufficient. Morally, it is a very sound policy, because the best way to independence is through education, however, when used by the Republican agenda, it basically says what I said above. We give you some basic skills, then to hell with you. You will make enough money this way to gett off of food stamps, but you will never own a home, go to college, or be able to seriously threaten our positions as rich bureaucrats that tell you what to do, and make money off you you doing it!!!

Don't get me wrong, the Democrats are no better.

If you give its not the same as if you teach. Don't go through your life giving people and making it easy for them to walk all over you and use you. The best thing is to teach a person not to use other people and if you teach another they will be better off and may teach others. To help making the world a better place.

The moral significance is useful to government and to man, it exemplifies the meaning of helping hand, to repair a problem with a quick fix, is not as good as showing how to repair to prevent future problems.

That it is good to give direct, practical help to someone, but that it could be even better to teach him the skill so that he can succeed on his own toward meeting his needs better in the future. It will also make him independent and that promotes good self-esteem and helps the person not be controlled by others to get their needs met.

Its the teachin of how to become independant, by showin somebody their own abilities, rather than just mechanically providin their needs, you show them what they can do for themselves. Its a really good quote.

Helping others to help themselves, instead of making others to depend on your favor, is genuine help.

Some people like to help others just to feel superior. This casts inferiority to the helpee.

Some people make the helpee weak, and depend on him, so he can exercise domination and exploitation. Mental abusers like to use this trick.

Nothing is better than to treat each other as equal. Mutual respect and trust will be cultivated in helping others to help themselves.

If countries are giving people what they want, they will be happy, but they will never learn for themselves, but if countries teach people how to do those things, they will be more productive
