Unfortunately I could not lay my hands on the main reference for auto production which would have the information you're looking for. It was called "Ward's Automotive Yearbook" back in the '79 model year. You will need to find a major library that has this reference. Also, the Detroit public library has a major amount of auto reference material. Although I have not used it in years, Detroit public library may still have a reference library staff that can scan its resources for answers. This service was not free, but it was quite reasonable.
