now, montenegro is independent from serbia, but this affect the criteria for the selection of the players?

actually there was one Montenegrin player (at least born in Montenegro) - Goran Nikolić.
out of 12 players only 7 are born in Serbia.
1 from Montenegro, 3 from Bosnia and 1 from Croatia.
even on the last world championship 4 years ago there was only one Montenegrin.

Since Montenegro and Serbia are now independent, their basketball teams are separate and they compete independently. Apparently, the Montenegro national team did not qualify for FIBA 2006.
