If you look closely at the situation between the US and Iran you'll find a bunch of similarities in the situation. The threat of nuclear war, both sides trying to pursuade the others and their own people, it's a very possible scenario.

Yes, think about all of the similarities.
One is that in WW II Japan had Kamikazes. Now there are Martyrs. After the Kamikazes started ramming their planes into ships the US delivered the first Nuclear bomb.

I believe after reading a site that the same thing will occur in just a few days. September 12, 2006 take a look at the site. You'll either laugh as you answer NO on their Poll or you'll be like me and push YES. and start preparing.

Highly unlikely. While the aftermath of the Iraqi war has been a disaster the war itself, from a military point of view was a complete success. Iran having witnessed that would be very unlikely to put itself in that position. They were at war with Iraq for eight years and lost over a million people so it's unlikely the people would have the stomach for it unless they were actually invaded. The Iranian government will also be aware that to lose such a war would mean regime change and democracy, it would be like "turkeys voting for Christmas". They prefer the status quo of funding and supporting terrorism as a low risk (for them) option.

The cold war was between the 2 most powerful states in the world. I personaly don't think Iran is really a superpower who imposes a big threat of overtaking the US.
I think that not a cold war is coming, but a major World War 3, aimed to destroy humanity. The only way we can stop this catastrophe from happening, is to stay united in the face of the ennemy.

The similarity ends there.. Russian schools did not teach Jihad from the earliest grades, then for the rest of the students life. This is what we are facing with Iran..they are intent on world domination. They already control 25% of the globe. They are also heavily imbedded in most countries. So, there is little hope of a cold war... is not their intention. Nor wil it ever be. If you were the least bit familiar with the book of Revelations, you would see it outlined there. Just as it is taking place in our present time. There are no similarities to the cold war of a generation ago.

The only modifying characteristic is; the young people of Iran are attempting to rebel against the monotheistic control of their lives. Doing so under threat of death or incarceration. One lady has a radio program and has already had warning. Continuation will result in prison.

How they consider themselves as a peaceful organization (religion) bears careful scrutiny.. they are brain washed from earliest childhood. And it never stops. The imams are calling for the Jihad in most of their deliveries, even today.

Possibly yet I think that at some point Iran will bully a bit to far or when they have the "Bomb" they will chuck it out there probably Israel and it will become much more complicated than the Cold War... Let's all Pray this won't happen but it doesn't look like it will be easy for all involved....

Iran is a third rate country with one resource. Unlike the Russian threat over the years Iran will never gain enough power to really threated the US. Israel will attack them if we do not, long before they can develope neculear weapons. Putting them on a level near the cold war status is really out of place.

Definetly no longer. From 1945-1962 the international became almost destroyed on many events. After say 1972 the Aggession between the two superpowers lessened and became far under the previous years. in the previous that there became the Vietnam conflict, Korean conflict and the Cuban Missle disaster which all ok ended the international. alongside vast construction will strengthen in WMDS the East/West German disaster and NATO and u.s. constanly scuffling with over the continents the international became in an fantastically risky gentle from 1945-1970. greater appropriate Russian Presidents and greater appropriate relatives made the two superpowers greater in a position to paintings mutually yet little question they weren't in any respect friends.
