If you are referring to greek mythology, then underworld creatures would be: Cerberus - the 3 headed dog who guards the entrance to hades, medusa - one of the gorgons....in popular fiction, those would be the dwarves(I'm a dragonlance fan), dark elves...then of course, you have gnomes, vampires, banshees, the undead, werewolves... The list is endless...perhaps if you could limit the genre, it would be easier..:o)

in fantasy terms, think of demons, devils, anything in the negative sense of the word.
the use of "underworld" usually refers to death and everything "evil" associated with it
