We live in an increasingly complex, technological society where our jobs seem to require we have more and more skills to function effectively. I've just watched a younger member of my family use the computer with three different windows open at the same time, while listening to an iPod and using a mobile phone. I can just about manage one-fingered typing!

I don't know where this idea that men can't multi-task comes from. Race-car drivers, air-traffic controllers, stock-brokers, helicopter pilots, men are usually the ones doing these jobs. I work in construction, operating a machine which weighs ten tonnes, and can cause absolute devastation if not handled correctly. There are many control pedals and levers, which have to worked one against the other, whilst the machine is moving, steering rolling to compensate for uneven ground. My whole job is multi-tasking, and I've never seen a woman doing it in twenty years. I'm not saying they couldn't, for they are a human, like me.
What about music? When I've an unfamiliar song on the CD, and I'm reading the sheet-music, playing the guitar, singing the words, and keeping time, pitch, and emphasis with the CD? That's multi-tasking!

Women are better at multi tasking definatley. My boyfriend can,t watch the tv and listen to me at the same time never mind anythin else. He has to be doing 1 thing only or else he can,t think.Me well i have to feed the baby, make the tea, clean up,run a bath, do the washin. As they say i might as well shove a broom up my bum at the same time and get that done while i,m at it.

Women because we always end up doing our work, helping the kids with theirs, and making sure the man in our life doesn't forget half of his...all at the same time!
They say the new technotoys are so simple a child can use them...but they sure are complicated for us adults!

Women, just look at school secretaries. They have phones constantly going, parents in the office, students in the office, and they still manage to get messages to teachers and things done for the principals.

Women are better than men at multi-tasking, the young are better at old people at using technology, so as a ageing male I may as well give up now!

I'm a man and I can't walk and chew gum simultaneously. Women are much, much better at multitasking. Men do the focused goal thing better. Hope I haven't offended anyone.

Just watching men cook is a hoot...most of them can only cook one dish at a time...women, however know how to time each dish, cooking the entire meal at once.

Women are certainly better at multi-tasking....they have to be! Our brains are simply 'wired' for it.

Hey Gum, I agree with you and...
thanks for the laugh!
