With men, sex is about power. With women it is about control. The paying of money is part of the power trip for men, because money IS power. If a woman were to pay for sex and thereby show she wanted it, it would dilute her ability to control and thus her enjoyment. God made the sexes so that men are the initiators, while women are the "reluctant" acceptors of sexual favors.

Sex fulfils a basic human need.
Men need sex more than women.
For example, a woman's sex drive begins to plummet once she is in a secure relationship, according to research. See the link below.
And like any situation where there is more demand than supply, suppliers, the women, impose a price on their services.
If the opposite was true, and mens sex drives plummeted while women had high sex drives, then men would become the suppliers and women would pay.

sadly there are ALOT of male and female prostitutes. i think there are more women prostitutes because ALOT of women in our society feel they have no other choice. some do it for drugs, some being raised in a abusive inviroment feel it's "all they are worth". some start doing it, just for a little while, then become "trapped" and can't find a way out. there a "few" who do it because they like it and want to. also men feed off of women and find this as a way for sex without any responsibility's,also men who "cheat" on their girlfriends and wives. i believe this sad practice would not be so accepted or prevalent if it weren't for the sexual appetite of men. i'm not putting down men. men are who they are. i also believe this wouldn't be such a prevelant practice if our society didn't oppress women as it has done in the past and still does to some extent even now. i hope your not considering such a demeaning and dangerous advocation.

2. Women get the kid and since they risk more than a dude, well, they get rewarded greater for thier risk.
3. Men are ususally too insecure about their performance to charge. Most men think that they suck in bed, and this is a major insecurity of men.
4. Women perfer the romantic, long stuff, and most existing male prostitutes are all about the wham-bam- thank-you - ma'm quickies that women get in the bars. Should men overhaul their practice, I'm sure rich old women like Hilary Clinton would find their services reasonable.

It is supply and demand. Men demand it and women supply it. Seriously, the male has a stronger sex urge, so it is ripe for exploitation by the female. Something that prostitutes are well aware of. All females exploit the male sex urge one way or another, but they are not honest enough to admit it.
I always laugh, when feminists and other assorted lefties, try to tell us men, that it is us who are exploiting prostitutes. What a corruption of the truth.
As a female you already know the answer to your own question, but you are just wondering if us males are smart enough to have figured it out. This one has, but there are still a lot of dumb males out there who haven't.

Simple - a woman doesnt have to be sexually excited to have sex a man does. A woman can therefore perform the act for people whom she has no attraction for but a man may not be able to rise to the occasion so easily in the same situation.

men can but they are just male prostitutes, that and you dont tend to get many women looking to pay a man for sex when they can just go to a bar and get it for free.
