I only heard a little of this guy last year. Then in the offseason when the talks started about this power rookie, I started to join in the hype,,,,now I love him !!! He is everything that you would want in a player, personality wise especially :) This kid is on the move to do some great things, I just hope that he stays healthy and continues to amaze us for the next 15 years. My vote for MVP, whether the Phillies make the playoffs or not ! Ken Griffey Jr and beyond

National League MVP definitely if the Phillies make the playoffs and he has my support for mvp even if they dont. He is in the top 10 in average and pulling away in home runs and RBI, top three in slugging and OPS and he has carried his team (with some help from Chase Utley) on his shoulders the second half of the season, with the anemic Pat Burrel hitting behind him. He may even reach 60 home runs (he has 53 with 24 games left). No wonder Ed Wade made him and Chase Utley untouchable a couple of years ago!!

He is a great player. He won the Rookie of the year award last year and the homerun derby this year. I think before his career is over he will have hit 500 hrs if he continues to do what he has done this year and have some MVP awards under his belt. He has 49 hrs this year. If he gets really hot in September, before the end of the year he may have 60 hrs!!!!

As a Phils fan, I think he is not only a great hitter, but a breath of fresh air with his intelligence, and his positive personality. I thought he'd have a good year, but did not imagine him having a monster year like this!
If the Phils get the wild card, he should now be the front-runner for MVP, ahead of Beltran, Pujols, etc.

Ryan Howard is the next Ken Griffey, Jr.. I'd definitely bet money on that, assuming that he is not going to the pharmacy (steroids) for all of his power.

i think he is the MVP, but it's a very tight race. he is also an excellent hitter. i love the way he drives the ball the opposite way when he hits, so teams can't put a shift on him like other big left-handed power hitters [giambi and ortiz]. he is also good at defense, he has good lateral quickness for a big guy, and i think that shows his all-around abilities.

best player on the Philles by far he's about to set a record for most home runs hit by a rookie since Ralph Kiner who hit 50.That's an accomplishment.

he's an amazing hitter and probably deserves the batting title, but he is a terrible defensive player, if you don't believe me watch him play first base sometime.
