Unlike Apple, Microsoft has a much bigger arena: programming (.NET Platform, Visual Studio.NET etal etal), database (SQL Server etal), Office suites, business solutions (CRM, Exchange, BizTalk, MS Money..), games and XBox, Encarta, MSNTV, Web (Live.com, MSN), hardware (Mice, Keyboards, Networking devices..), Training Courses, Microsoft Press ... And of course Windows (Home, Server, Mobile...).
Apple's scope is not as large: iPods, Macintosh, OS, QuickTime, iLife, iWork, Final Cut Studio...
Apple is better when it comes to innovation, but Microsoft is mammoth.
Talking about operating systems, Linux is better than both Leopard and Vista.

I prefer Microsoft, but Apple does have a lot of pre loaded programs that are really cool.

I'll let you in on something.... our professor in Operating Systems (i'm a computer science stud) said this to us, also through research we learned this....
Microsft STOLE apple's technology from the very start of their wars... if u already used windows 3.1 (i'm only 19 and i used that version) it's the same as Macintosh OS.... just think about it..... What do you think is better? is it a ford or a hyundai? you be the judge :D
also, i own 2 MS windows based laptops and 2 pc's and 1 apple ibook, i rate the ibook so much better, try using Photoshop in Apple and MS, you'll see the difference :D

Microsoft if you use a ordinary pc. However if your into graphics and graphic design then Apple have there own machines that are made for this kind of work. Their operating system is different too.

I love Microsoft way more.
People will say apple because it gets less viruses - but it still gets viruses.
I think you should try Microsoft.
