Both I think dogs and cats make great pets.

I prefer dogs. Dogs are more fun. And they are
supposed to be teached. Cats are more beautiful
than dogs. But they are different. They are clean,
that's all. They make no tricks for U, they cannot dance
or make fun. Cats are like from another planet. I like
looking into the eyes of a Siam-cat, but I know they do not
SEE me. They seem to be a kind of arrogant.

Dogs are / have more fun. They come close to the
master. If You leave them alone for one hour and —
when U come back, they nearly get crazy because
they are happy. Cats do not mind if You stay out one
week. They just need the milk, their water and their food.
That's all. And cats are sinister....

I would have to go with cats only becuase they are cleaner, don't need grooming, they don't eat much and stay long periods of time alone. With dogs, you have to walk it 3x's a day, they smell, the house smells..get it groomed once a month (expensive), and if you have to go away for a few days you have to make arrangements for boarding (also expensive).

Grew up with cats. Now married with a cute little pup. I had another dog that I loved who passed away before this pup.

I THINK CATS ARE GREAT, YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THEM OUT AFTER WORKING ALL DAY. SOMETIMES THEY MEET YOU AT THE DOOR WHEN YOU COME HOME. I USE TO HAVE TWO DOGS AND ONE CAT THEY GOT ALONG GREAT, BUT THEY PAST ON SOME TIME AGO. NOW I HAVE TWO CATS AND THEY HAVE DIFFERENCE PERSONALITY. DOG COULD BE SPITEFUL PET IF THEY LEFT ALONE.

Cats. They are indoor which means no fleas. You put out the food and water and they take care of themselves. No need to worry about poop in the yard because it is in a litter box. You can come and go as you please without worrying that you have to get home to let it go out for a bathroom break. Put little soft paw claw covers on them and no scratching.

Dogs by far because you can do so many, many things with them. You can't do much with cats except sit with them in your lap.

I have had both and found dogs are much more loving and you really bond with them..cats are very independent and not very affectionate.
