Because most people won't invest the time and energy it takes to actually **learn** the subject.

Are you talking about pure maths, which can be tricky or applied maths - mostly involving arithmetic, which becomes easy when you use it daily instead of shying away from it?
I have a theory that the introduction of the decimal system is making kids lazier and dumber. In my day the most ignorant individuals knew that 18d was 1/6d and 36" was 3 feet. In other words they could add and subtract in base 12, even thought they wouldn't have known what 'base 12' meant. Now they not only don't know what it means they can't do it either!

Math is not tricky at all if you study it. Math of all sciences, is exact. Probably the tricky part is you can learn a lot without actually knowing much by reducing things to formulas, including how th universe works.

Thanks Doc, you are too kind!!!! If only i did know the answer to everything, i would be a multi-millionaire by now. Sad to say, i work a day job like most of us.
As for maths, some find it tricky, some not so tricky. We all have subjects that we enjoy and excel in and others where we struggle. For me, i found law, languages, and art more tricky, but some of my friends love these subjects. Its just how we are all made.

you know, maths at its core is NOT tricky. it is rather beautiful and especially when a mathematical theory is thought of at first, the process is a lot more creative than many people might even imagine. it is comparable with writing a poem, painting a picture or composing music. the trick then is to convey your inner thoughts to the wider world using the universal language of mathematics. the precision and the rigour required makes the whole thing look tricky. however, this is necessary simply because other people have to test your ideas, so that they can accept or challenge them.

Maths is tricky because,
1. People tend to MEMORISE instead of Understanding the concept or logic.
2. Careless.
3. Lack of Practice.
Maths can be fun, its like doing IQ puzzles, and keeps you alert.
Cheers.

Math isn't tricky. I love math, my best subject. You just need to know what the formula is and take it one step at a time.

This is for all subjects. First you need a headstart. If you find the basics hard at school then you eventually have difficultys with the other parts as you think of it as hard so it is hard. You then eventually hate it. In severe cases then people can sometimes develop phobias.
Hey! That's a sort of insult! I'm nine years old and I know all about the Imperial system. I even know the old british money system even though it changed February 17th 1971. But you are actually right in one way. It can sometimes cause something as serious as rocket crashes.

Maths is so tricky to sharpen our minds. But if you know how to solve a question on the same time it is also very scoring.

math is tricky because every step you take ina problem is based on the previouse steps you ahev already taken. If you take a wrong step you can get totally lost and have to start over which can be very frustrating. If you can get from step one to step n with out trouble however it can seem pretty easy.
