I would approach him and just ask what she said about me, he may tell you or may not. It will put him on the spot and give him a chance to say something to you, if he likes you. Good luck and don't ex SIL nothing else.

Er... you probably won't like my advice, but here goes:

Playing hard-to-get is old school. By that I mean, forget about it. It doesn't strike too deep into what a real relationship with that guy will be like. Playing games is just that--games. But don't take my word for it. In my experience, playing hard to get was merely a waste of time and I wound up attracting more muck from the bottom of the pond than I struck it rich, if you know what I mean. I would talk to the guy of interest. Then again, I wouldn't be interested in a guy simply because he was 'cute'

Your x sister in law probably told him things that would make him not interested in you, since she's jealous of you. Confront him and ask him if she talks about you or just start telling him she is a compulsive liar and he'll second guess what she said about you. or you could play the game....make up something about HIM and ask him about it pretending that your x sister in law said it and you just wanted to clear the rumor. you'll look like the hero!

always was jealous of you? sorry to say it, but i think you were backstabbed by your best friend.

think about it.

since she's single and has known him longer than you have, maybe she has a thing for him too. maybe she told the guy you liked that he should stay away from you- that you are a skank... etc. etc.

even if you don't believe what i'm saying, you should at least confront the guy and ask him why he hasn't been speaking to you. that's the only way to get to the heart of the matter.

good luck, girl! ^_^

Only way for you to know is to strike up a conversation with him. Casually get to chat with him and see if you can arrange a lunch break together.

You have to start somewhere, if you want to know him well.

Just let it be. Go about your business. If he's interested, he'll come around. And don't tell your "friend" anything else!
