It has become a necessity. For over two hundred years famous economists have been saying the earth can only support so many people. And then some technology comes along that makes people more productive.

Witout the internet u have to work harder for the things u wanna know or do, but with the net u can chek ur email, look for work, shopppin all that stuff. I think that the internet has become a necessity for some people. It is a place where they can access information, learn and share new things, meet up with old friends and family, make new ones, conduct business, shop for things, listen to music, watch a film, play a game and generally have all their entertainment needs met.

Internet is a necessity to people nowadays, those who need to use it for work or study, even play. but it is a luxury for those people who do not require internet in their daily lives. (most probably the elderly) since Internet was not available to them for most of their lives, they can live without it. and if it was available to them, it would be a bonus.

It was a luxury - 10 years or so ago - but now it's increasingly become a necessity. Email, shopping, work; if it were turned off now I really have no idea what I'd do. (Sad, but true.)

it is a luxury in that you could suvive without it, a neccessity because life is easier with it in the 21st century, just as cars aren't a neccesity but how many people choose to go without and walk or ride a bike instead especially when it is only a short distance involved

I would have to say a luxury. If we didn't have it now everyone would go crazy. It's there but we honestly don't really need it!
