Well, I think the best plant for your small balcony space would be hanging baskets. They are very stylish and pleasent to look at! And they do not take up much room. The best thing about hanging plants is they are not a pain to plant and clean up, you can just buy them from the store, and when you are done using them you can toss them in the Garbage, Easy as that!

I may spell this wrong but a fern is a good plant that is the only one I can think of at the moment.

orchids are good balcony plant... they're beautiful, doesnt really need much sunlight, if the area doesnt hav much sunlight going into it..plus they are more beautiful when they grow flowers..just little water and they will survive...get those which are low maintenance...

Spider plants (airplane plants) - they look great in baskets, and the breeze moves them around.

I liked Peace Lilys (sorry can't remember the other name). They do well with shade and hard pretty hard to kill if you take care of them.

Cactus!! because sometimes their small and really easy to take care of!
