First you will have to reserve tickets for the train which is departing to Delhi from Howrah station.Then you will find many trains that are leaving for Shimla from Kathgodham station of Delhi.Reserve tickets for anyone of the trains and then your destination will be Shimla.

Depending on your budget you can choose one of the following:
To delhi by air/train and rent a cab for overnight ride
To delhi by air/train, Shatabdi to Chandigarh and a cab/bus from there on

From your house walk straight and take the first left and walk straight and take a right a walk straight and once again take a right and again a right. Here's simla.
