I already deleted it off my computer and redownloaded the messnger and it's still not working right, it's locking up my computer when I start the web cam

Did you delete the cam software from the control panel,restarted your computer and reinstalled it?

Well it depends on what messenger you have, like for instance if you had msn then you can just put the webcam on and click on start a video conversation but for other things, i wouldnt know unless you didnt turn on your webcam or it could be the problem coming from your messenger over to your webcam, so you could switch messengers or something i dont know its an idea.

What messenger are you talking about ? MSN /Yahoo / Aol ?
Does the cam work on its own? can you take snapshots with it?
Did it ever work on any application?
Can you do the webcam test on MSN messenger?
