a wet wash cloth is always good. i also heard you can freeze the wet wash cloth. teething is very painful for babies so Tylenol droplet pain reliever may be needed.

REMEDIES FOR TEETHING
Anything cold – here are a variety of cool favorites:
Frozen teething rings
Ice – rub an ice cube along baby's gums.
Frozen juice slushy or popsicle
Cold spoons
Frozen bagel or banana
Frozen washcloth
Medications
Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen– these are both safe and effective pain relievers to help your baby, and you, get some sleep. Click on these for dosing.
Teething gels– there are various over-the-counter gels, pastes, or liquids that numb the gums. Pat the gums dry with a washcloth, then apply a small amount only on the area of the gums that is bulging. There are several drawbacks to these, so we suggest you only use them as a last resort:
They taste terrible
They travel throughout the mouth in the saliva and can numb the tongue and lips
It is easy to use too much
Baby may swallow too much

No brandy or alcohol. It will numb it, but it will also irriatate the gums even more.

Use orajel, and maybe some baby tylenol for the nights that he stays up crying.

Our son HATED teething rings. Instead he would chew on anything. We ended up getting a food net (it holds larger objets), putting an ice cube in it, and he would suck on it. We also let him chew on his hands, etc. He knew what he needed.

Good luck though--teething is the worst!

I wont name product names as Im in Australia so the product names are probably different - when my daughter was teething we tried rubbing the gel you get from the pharmacy but she would either bite us or not let us apply it - we ended up putting the gel on her dummy or the teething ring and she would then chew on them and then get the gel in the right area - if he doesnt like anything you have tried so far - try going back to the pharmacy and trying other products - he may just hate the taste of the one you have tried.

Unfortunatly there's not a lot you can do that provides relief for very long. Check with his doctor about Tylenol infant drops, it may be too early but that is usually the best. Also get some chew toys (makes them sound like dogs) that go in the freezer. They work OK. We even put our baby's pacifier in the freezer and she liked that. Good luck, don't get discouraged. He's gonna fuss a LOT until they're all in.

Sometimes the orajel just irritates their gums more. My boys liked a washcloth soaked in chamomile tea wrapped around an ice cube with a fat rubber band to hold it together. They also liked to chew on baby toothbrushes, but you have to make sure you're paying attention if you give him one.

NOOO Honey for babies under 1 yo. They can get botulism.

Rub/rub down his gums with your finger. which will help. additionally, I gave my woman newborn a cool (no longer too chilly) bottle and it fairly releaved her. and make certain you're chilling your toddler's teethers interior the refrigerator. My toddler had 2 the teeth by ability of her 2 momth examine-up. Tylenol helped too while she became in basic terms having a very complicated time. that's hard to might desire to be certain one in all those tiny toddler in lots soreness, tugging ears, etc,. yet those issues labored for us. additionally, carry off on the orajel. I study some sources that say toddlers will oftn swallow it, inflicting the medicine to numb their throat. it would desire to reason a choking danger besides as decrease off respiration, extraordinarily for a youthful toddler.

Try putting some honey or baby teething gel on the chew toy for your son to chew. He is just wanting something tasty to chew, his fist/fingers is definitely more tasty than the bland chew toy.

Chewing on his fingers and hand is fine. Baby Oral gel will work to easy the hurt for him. But other than that just let him chew on his fingers. It won't hurt him a bit.

My daughter loved frozen bagels. Just make sure when it starts getting "chunky" you ge the big pieces out of his mouth to prevent choking. Teething cookies work well too. They disintegrate nicely. You can get them anywhere.
