Even if knowledge does not continue beyond death, knowledge is still useful in the here and now. Knowledge can greatly improve the quality and length of your life. Learning more about the world and our place in it can help you understand why life is so special. Knowledge of God can even give you hope of something beyond this particular world.

We do know the answer. Jesus the Christ and Buddha and other great Prophets have told us what lies on the other side of this dimension. Jesus the Christ even shown us that we all overcome this thing we call life by his resurrection. But what is knowledge? Knowledge is experience with emotion. Emotion is the gift of this reality that we call life. When this occurs then we actually change our vibrational energy and this my friend we take with us and can not be left behind for energy is infinite

The only sort of solace you're going to receive in this is in simply deciding that it does matter and that your knowledge will live on. I personally believe this.
If you decide against it, I'd advise seeing your knowledge enduring as a form of the legacy you pass on in sharing your knowledge through others in whatever form you desire- art, music, teaching, children, etc. You'll be happier with one of these choices then dwelling on the possibility that neither matters.

Would you rather live in ignorance only because you are going to die eventually? Could knowledge have a value in itself?
I may or may not be answering correctly.
