Most probably, experience. They may have experienced such difficult situation and may have already anticipated it the next time it occurs. First occurrence normally brings the question "what to do" to control or mitigate such difficult situation and may even cause a person to perform a try-and-error action to see how it will turn out.

They have the ability to rationalize things so that they can compartmentalize what is necesary to solve this dilema.
By breaking a situation down into small areas or compartments, they solve the least thing first, (that what is easiest), then work towards the harder parts with help or alone.
They have the ability to ask or get help when needed for something they cant handle, and know when it "is" too big for them to handle alone.
They also have the ability to stop a lot of problems before they start up, by seeing ahead of themselves and what certain situations will entail further on in the future, and nip it in the bud, so to speak, before a problem become so overwhelming that they have to call for help.
Problem solvers are just those who have a logical mind, and can sort out details, and maximize all available resources to throw at the problem from all angles.
I wish you well..

Generally ppl are able to do this b/c of experience. As an Air Traffic Controller I was slow at first but picked up speed as I understood the rules I needed. The rules are the rules .. period! Application of the rules, however, is quite a different thing. Every situation that is not normal or routine is unique in the extreme! The more you understand the rules - and we have tons and tons of them for all manner of aircraft! - the better you are able to take a difficult situation and make the right decisions to solve it.
There is nothing wrong with you, you only lack experience.

some people are just better dealing with difficult situations. i guess it's how you're raise by family or whoever. i work well under pressure, i can accomplish anything under pressure. i'm not very emotional, don't get me wrong i can be, but what's the point. to me, when there's a situation, i'd like to diffuse/resolve it quickly, so we can all move on for the next one. again, some people are just better at it than some.

They have the ability to step away from the situation and analyze it appropriately. They have moved beyond having to have things their way and are able to recognize when they are a part of the problem and can then make changes in their lives to solve the part of the problem that they own. They are secure in who they are and are willing to entertain other's viewpoints without being defensive. We all can become who they are, it's a matter of how we think and process things internally.

I am not sure about others but I am an escapist and I try to run as fast as I can from a difficult situation. I believe others have patience, endurance and perseverance to tackle difficulties.

I agree with you about the part about being realistic and moral. Well we all come to trouble sometimes, the key to handling trouble, in my opinion, is to use your best ''weapons'' and deal with it. I think nobody should ever RUN AWAY from trouble, because that way you become weaker. Whatever the trouble is there is always a way to fight against it. And in my opinion, to avoid trouble is using the least violent way because that way you will have lesser consequences afterwards

How we react in difficult situations is largely determined by genetics. I'm serious. But, from a more practical approach, try "being in the moment" more lucidly.

Life is short. We really shouldn't live with so much anger and spite towards one another. I think that many people realize that and seize the opportunity. Letting go and loving that other person even though they "did you in" or "did you wrong" is taking a lighter/high road. It is only through love and the results of it that a person can live and let go!
