My family is planning to travel in the Philippines and stay there for a month, do you think guys it is safe there to spend our vacation?

Depends on where you are going. The Southern islands have a Muslim rebellion going on, and there is a fairly high level of crime and violence, generally. Chose your destination(s) with care.

Stay away from Muslim-dominated areas. They have kidnapped Westerners.
