Okay, you have the gym: G
and the Auditorium: A
G + 21= A , becuase it's the gym's current age plus 21 years equals the auditorium's age.
Then, you have G= 1/4A (or 4G=A), because the gym is only 1/4 as old as the auditorium. Hope this helps.

G = A - 21

G = 1/4 A

A - 21 = 1/4 A

A- 1/4A = 21

3/4A = 21

A = 21*4/3

A = 7*4 = 28

auditorium = 28
G = 28 - 21 = 7

tada!!
