The game was invented by Dr. James Naismith in Massachussets. He was a physical education teacher and invented the sport for this students. That explains why Boston Celtics was so great during those old times because basketball was already a native to there state. If Dr. Naismith was still alive today, he would be amazed how he brought the whole world into one language - basketball..!!!!

Although modern basketball was invented by James Naismith in Springfield Massachusetts, home of the Basketball Hall of Fame. It bears a resemblance to a game played by the Mayan Nation of the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico back in the early 1500's.
