My wife is also 36 weeks and has the same symptoms. As your cervix begins to soften and efface the baby descends to the birth canal. This places pressure on your nerves and bone structure. The position of the child in the birth canal is measured in a term called stations.Cramps and some numbness are not uncommon. We are on baby number four and these symptoms have been fairly consistant throughout each pregnancy. The sweating can be caused by the anxiety that you are feeling.Hang in there you are almost there. If your water breaks or leaks or you have a bloody show.Call your doctor or go to the ER.Good luck.

It could be the baby moving down or it could be contractions...at 36 weeks it could just be Braxton Hicks contractions..practice contractions. Time the pains....from the beginning of the first one to the beginning of the next...if they are 5 minutes or less apart for over an hour head to the hospital. You may also try drinking some water and laying on your left side...if it doesn't stop within an hour go to the hospital!! I've been there....I am almost 39 weeks now!

I do. my due date is monday the 4th. i am constantly in pain from my hips and i am also numb in the groin area. my doc said that it is common and its the body gearing up for labor and not to worry. warm washcloths and warm showers, baths and maybe a heating pad helps. they dont want to give me painkillers to help with the pain i dont want them anyway. but the pain sometimes shoots down my legs and sometimes it makes my back cramp. but not to worry, the pain will be over soon. i have cried several times because of the pain, so a good cry might help. the sweating is anxiety, and try to rest. get pleanty to drink and rest as much as possible. labor will come soon. for the both of us i hope. this is a very miserable feeling and i hope you can tolerate this as much as you can. dont be afraid to ask for help around the house and someone to watch the kids for awhile(if you have more than the one you are carrying) so you can rest. good luck sweety.

Ah I know that's horrible, it happens to me too (I'm 6days overdue but it's been happening about a month). I asked my midwife about it and she said that as the baby's getting ready to be born & descending further down he can hit nerves in your legs/groin which gives you that pain. Nothing to worry about :)

No, I haven't been in my last month in 11 years, but I can tell you I was. The big baby is resting on your nerves. Try laying on your left side to get that sweet thing to move around.

It is most likely pressure from the baby's head. It happened to me,too. Curl up on your left side, that should help.

i had that with my last pregnancy it'll stop you dead in your tracks. my dr told me it was because the baby was low and was pushing on my blood vessels. and that the sharp pains were the baby turning its head down there.
