years ago i went to a bar with my boss, I had a feeling she was a lesbian but wasn't sure until we actually got to the bar. It was an expierence I won't soon forget to see how women interact with other women...how some of them look like men and some are the most beautiful women I had ever seen. I couldn't believe how supportive they were to each other and gentle and kind. They were a gr8 bunch of people and the atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing. I really enjoyed hanging out with them and making new friends. In fact I still keep in touch with 2 of them I met that live close by...Why would u take men into a gay club with you tho? I don't think that lesbians are as shallow as you may have thought, by thinking they would be all over you or wanting to hang. They are no different than anyone else, with the exception they know just how to please another woman!!!

I went in the Hope and Anchor in Leeds with a boyfriend in 1975 for the same reason.
Still waiting for my first female to hit on me though.

Yep, went in(early), a couple of people were there. Sitting at the bar a guy close to me had ordered a drink and when the bartender brought it she slammed it down in front of him and scared me to death(at the time i didn't realize the type of drink was called a "slammer" and that you do that to mix the drink and make it fizz). It mellowed out after that.

I was quite shy about walking into a gay bar- but it was a laugh...
I was so homophobic them days (actually, in denial...). I was dancing, and this lesbian came up behind me- I remember stamping on her toes with my heels... she became my first girlfriend.

yes, i remember it well...there were big fat elderly men dressed up as kangaroos swinging from enormous pink and fluffy chandeliers and swapping champagne kisses in midair, and the other men and women were squirming about the dance floor in their birthday suits, covered in mud, and partaking in a mass orgy.
i was very disturbed by all of this because they weren't wearing condoms and when i eventually managed to claw my way to the bar, i was given a straw in my snakebite: sacrilege! (av never been able to spell that word).
arl the women were pawing me, they were completely burt naked, the men were rather partial to me too because i looked so boyish. i got lots of attention that night.
then i woke up.

i loved it, Ive only been to one gay club but it was great! not just cos of the woman but cos it was actually nice for a change to not be around sleazy men cos the men there were gay (obviously), its so much more laid back as well, the people are friendlier too.
