Ive " gone to Blackpool " for many years now, ive even worked there for 4 years. Blackpool is best when the holidaymakers have gone for the season and the locals come out. I understand how you feel as i've always been able to walk away fron it to " go home " but please remember " Blackpool is magic " always has been and always will.

At least you weren't one of those poor sods in Southport who made a living from their Pleasure Beach. Everyone there just lost their job because the company closed that amusement park down.

Now /there's/ a town that's going to be going seriously to the dogs. In comparison, Blackpool's going to look like a Paradise.

I don't live there but I visited Blackpool this summer and I agree. It's become more and more like a mini Las Vegas, very tacky and tawdry along the promenade area.

i love Blackpool when the lights are on but i must admit but it is a little run down flaky paint on railings and generally a scruffy appearence it's a shame cos other than that it's a top place the people are lovely. i always enjoy my day there

Yes it has gone downhill a bit. We were there in May this year - we had not been for a few years and noticed a big difference. We have young children and felt it was not really a nice place for them to walk along the front. We stayed in the Pleasure Island bit.
