I am finding my roots, and want to see what real gypsies wore. Specificly Romanian & Russian gypsyes. Either web addresses or books.

This is how really Gypsies look.
All Gypsies are dark skinned & black-haired. Not to be mistaken with the so called "Irish travellers", they're not from India.
Gypsies from any country in Europe look like Indians. They are also notorious for their immoral lifestyle: incest, pedophilia,pickpochetting, theft, fortune-telling and prostitiotion are a way of life. Daughters are married at age 12-13 and often sold into prostitiuition by their new husbands.
That's why in Europe noone likes them-they turn any neighbourhood into a ghetto. They pop out a baby after baby, because govmt pays well for each baby. Gypsies rarely work, it's against their "moral" code.
You sound intelligent. Were you adopted by normal , non-Gypsy people? Most Gypsies send their kids to beg or prostitute, so you were lucky to be abandoned and adopted.
In Europe Gypsies steal anything-from a cable cord to a door knob. Everything is sold , that's their lifestyle. Very often a Gypsy would built himself a carton home:made of boxes and stolen rugs. In all of Europe we try to educate them, many states pay millions to buld free housing, but Gyspies sell the houses and move outside where their horses live. Hygiene, birth control education... are despised by Gypsies. Very often, due to incest daughters get pregnant by their own fathers and their kids are born with various mal-functions and disease.
Sorry to sound anti-Gypsy, but I've seen how they live. In my country over 90% of crimes are committed by Gypsies.
You are VERY lucky to be far away from your roots!
