Naturally ( without artificial aid ), through evolution, I don't believe that could happen ( well, for one thing, we wouldnt be humans then, we'd be homo avians or something =P ). But with the help of technology, yes, I believe that COULD happen in a century or 2, but before it becomes practical, well, that could take a while...

Sure lots of people believe that. But, is what they believe true...? No, I don't think so. Here is the evidence to support my statement:
Popular Science and Popular Mechanics magazines are two of the best indicators of the new technology that is becoming avilable to the consumer in America, and for over forty years now, they have been predicting that someday we will all have jet belts and fly to work from our driveway, and there will no longer be any need for airports. For years, they kept saying "By the year 2000, you will have your own personal hovercraft, or flying car."
You can look up these articles in the library. Or you can see the issues being offered at somebody's yard sale, along with other old magazines.
Well, it's been and gone, the year 2000, and where are these things they promised us...? It sold a lot of magazines, but where are they?
The more we learn about science, the more we realize how difficult some things are. The jet belts used by NASA cost hundreds of thousands each and they are unsafe; nobody but Bill Gates has that kind of money to throw around, and he values his life too much to take such risks.
It was all just a bunch of hype to sell magazines. If the military or NASA had a practical method that would work, they would be using it on a regular basis, instead of big bulky machines that eat a lot of fuel and are easier to shoot down. And the magazines (including comic books, which I always liked) have made it so familiar to us, that it seems possible. So we go on thinking that we can do it, that it is right around the corner.
It's been a dream of people for thousands of years. But, with all our technology, we haven't been able to do it in the century since we have had actual flight using airplanes.
If we ever do it, it will have to be done with a new and different technology, something that we probably cannot imagine now and could not understand even if it was explained to us. I'm sorry.

Man surely has the ability "I believe". But, I am aware on the other hand that this is going to happen only if the collective intelligence feels a dire need for it. But I don't think that its that necessary considering the other things on hand.
Its better to be flying in a boeing than flutering your wings for a trans-atlantic flight. Such great things land nearly always as experimental things. Similar things are seen in many other things also. The better thing to flying would be to get transported at the speed of light through teleportation. Techniques are being developed and we would son forget walking!

Well, we already fly...
Airplanes, hovecrafts, hydrofoils...
Walk in air? We do that too, but, we keep our feet on the ground, while we "walk in air" :)
Do I think levitation is next? Well, not in this lifetime, but maybe some day, we will have a new turn of events and can actually do this...
Something to do with particles that inverse themselves when they are apart, or together, at the same time...Its coming, but way in the future...
I wish you well

Yes the day is not too far. One day you will listen about a jacket or a suit wearing which you will be able to fly and walk to your destinations.

The device that you can fly will look similar to your backpack and will be based on clean fuel. Lot of new things to learn including traffic signals and fly paths.
Yes it is going to happen

Of course. Right now, people are thinking about terraforming Mars. Just wait until they start thinking about Martiaforming humans. It's the next logical step.

I'm thinking man has evolved almost as much as we are being allowed. We have no use for developing wings of any sort, due to the fact that we have jets for that.
