There are many great bands. However, Aerosmith is the best because they have been around for so long. They have had some great albums and singles.

This is obviously a matter of taste.
Personally for me its between Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.
Some of those mentioned even if you like their type of music cannot be classed as a great band.

If there were "the best band" NY Philarmonic Orchestra would be a candidate far ahead of U2, Coldplay and even Pink Floyd if you will... I got two points anyway and you lost 5 on a question with no answer :-)
