It helps to distract you about overly thinking about your problems. Some professional pool players tap on the pool table to take their mind off a difficult shot.

not sure if it works because of what you are actually doing or whether it works because you are concentrating on something else except your worry issue. I find that without any psychological tuition I subconsciously drum to help myself focus or concentrate on a task ion hand so I suppose it is just an advance of this technique.

I think it could work if I wasn't too busy obsessing about how frickin nervous I feel to actually concentrate on tapping this n tapping that.

I've used tapping before to relax my mind, and clear my aura of stress. It seems to work, and for a brief moment I feel a sort of euphoria.

i do it occasionaly and i think it helps the mind to do smming with ur hands or feet!! keeps ur mind calmer!!!!!
it is so annoying when other ppl do it tho and all u can hear is them tapping!
