Well it usually links you to a page to buy an updated version... but i guess you can buy it at your PC store also.

I keep getting the same pop up, I am not going to subscribe to Norton.
I will use Microsoft Windows Firewall, (updated regularly,) and have PC Pitstop Exterminator, Erase and Opimize which are better than Norton and Cheaper.
Whenever I try to update Norton I can never connect to their computer, and so their virus and spyware definitions are always out of date.
PC Pitstop is always up to date and has realtime protection,
it also repairs any problems in other programs and files.
Also on a previous computer, that was protected by Norton always got infected with viruses, and I had to spend hours and hours repairing the damage to it. It also cause me to lose a lot of information and data.
I still don't think that Norton have got it right yet.

Don't bother with norton, they are good, but totally rip you off with their costs and constant renewals and limited installs

Try using AVG Antivirus, it's a great little antivirus, and it also can create recovery disks etc and also features regular updates.

You can download it free from www.grisoft.com or Just Search Google for "AVG Antivirus", You can at least use this to put you on whilst you get your antivirus renewed. Good luck with your problem and I wish you the best of look with coming up with a solution to this problem

Good luck
Ash

You should be able to renew subscription on line. Was the version you have purchased or provided with the PC. Either way, did you register it with Norton when you installed it? If not, that may be the problem.

It's a con. We bought Norton when we got our computer, and had paid to renew 3 times in 18 months. We have now settled with AVG free edition & have had no problems since. Trty that one

You need an updated version, better to go out and buy then down load from net, that way you have hard copy.

Better programs are available- Check Best Buy- the Geek Squad, also
Fix-it Utilities 6 by VCOM is great for cleaning out your computer, you can get rid of all the crap on your hard drive.

I went to the local PC shop and picked up the new version when it was time to renew. I won't be renewing again though - I also bought SystemWorks - big mistake.

Dont renew. go to grisoft and download AVG free edition, its great! Give it a trial then upgrade to pro. Delete all Norton from your pc.

I have used the free version and the bought and found neither very succesful, it tends to "take over" my machine so I just stick to AVG and Spybot both free and no problems Zone alarm is good too

You have to pay about £30 a month. Mcafee is about £15 or Avg is free.
