When my voice is recorded like on a answering or tape recording it sounds extremely different than what Im hearing, why is this

Because you are hearing sound waves that travel from your throat to your ear, and through all the flesh in between. The sound waves from a tape player move from the player directly to your ear through the air. Sound waves sound different through different media...think underwater how different things sound.

Because the voice you hear when you speak and which you think is your voice is not your real voice: the vibrations that you make speaking affect the perception of your ears. If you beat your teeth no one can listen that but you hear a big sound. It's the same principle.
The recorded voice is your real voice! ;)

Because you hear your voice in practily Sterio from the inside and the outside so on a tape etc. you only hear from the outside!

I have no idea I want to know the answer to that too I sound regular to myself and others in person but then on other things I sound innocent and like a lil girl and I am soooo not innocent or a lil girl lol
