Rx can refer to medical prescription. It is an uppercase R with its tail crossed and was used as an abbreviation for the Latin word recipe or "take". It is an instruction to the pharmacist to take the items listed in order to prepare the medicine.

It is abbreviation for prescription. Rx came from Rexall Pharmacist because they got fed up with having to scribble down Prescript.
Crookx & Crooks Pharmacy plus others followed suit! A good idea is a good idea. A good short cut is a good short cut!

It's a Latin short form for "recipe", the polite command form of the word for receive.

So in context, it means "go to the drug store, because I have given you permission to receive this drug"
