I'm surprised that no one has answered this correctly yet. The answer is (assuming that it is piped correctly, and that the air is bled from it??) you have to balance the system, as all the water flow is going through the smaller and closest radiators to the pump/boiler. At the opposite end from the thermostatic valve or hand valve on each rad, is a locksheild valve, below the plastic cover is a spindle, you have to close these off partially (turn clockwise) to offer some resistance to the flow of water, this will force more water to the far away larger radiator. Start from a cold sytem and run for about 5 mins. then slightly close the ones that are hottest, then you can fine tune later.

If the bottom of the radiator is warm and the top cold, there may be air trapped in the radiator - try bleeding it. Otherwise it could be that the system needs balancing. Try turning off all the other radiators to see if it then gets warm. If it does then you need to turn down the lock shield valve on the hottest radiators which are currently taking more than their share of the heat. If it does not then there may be a blockage within the cold radiator - it then needs removing and flushing through.

Sounds like there may be air in the line. Try bleeding the system, start at the closest radiator to the boiler and open the valve till hot water comes out and go to the next one and do the same and continue till the entire circuit has been done.

Like someone said before try balancing the system, if that doesn't work make sure the new rad has been turned on at both valves.
If the pipework is micro-bore (8mm or 10mm) there could be a blockage in the pipework or manifold supplying the rad.
If the old rad burst or pin-holed you might have sludge in your system, get yourself a magnet and go to the cold feed and stick it too the pipe, if it sticks to copper your system will probably be choked.

Is the feed pipe warm? If so, bleed the radiator by opening the small valve at the top.
If not, you need to re-balance your system. Basically, fully open all the taps on all the radiators in the house and then close the return taps on each until they all heat up by equal amounts.

If your find a cold spot on the rad. Use your vent key to expel any air. If this does not work shut one of the valves on the end. Either one and repeat the venting. Make sure both valves are open fully. Also make sure the valves are connected to the flow or return properly if they are not dual flow.

First of all go into roof void and check that water is getting into the "header" tank( The small one) Next feel bottom of rad, is it warm? If so use rad key to remove air, if no air or water remove tiny screw VERY carefully and poke a Very fine sewing needle into the hole. There should be a hiss of air, or a spurt of water. REPLACE screw carefully. (DON'T DROP SCREW)
Of course make sure that you have opened BOTH valves, (COUNTERCLOCKWISE) Sometimes paint gets into the hole.and blocks it during manfacture. If sealed system adjust valve go give 1 BAR of pressure.

sounds like you have an air lock
or air in the radiator
on one end at the top is a bleed screw open this until air stops comming out and you get water instead then close it back up your radiator should be fine

Good luck !

Airlock just needs bleeding. Just release the bleed valve, starting with the highest rad and work down, let the air out and retighten valve. Easy.
