People all over the world will tell you that tarot cards are divine entities of themselves and deserve only the highest respect available from your inconsequential hands, thereby connecting your energies with the divine-ness of the actual cards. This is untrue.
Tarot are tarot and cards are cards. They are by no means extraspecial and deserve no different treatment than what you would offere your athame or baseballbat. Tarot cards are only a focus to center your thoughts and help connect one dot to another, not some future telling devices created by the goddess herself and entrusted to you because no other mortal can handle them. That is preposterous, most of them are printed by book publishing companies, and more than likely have had some grubby factory worker touching them all ready. If you want cards that no one had ever touched before....make them yourself. It's not difficult.
As far as your daughter is concerned, allowing her to "touch" them might damage them if she is of the age of the terrible twos or so. Treat them no different that you would playing cards (you know the kind with the hearts and the diamonds and the spades and such) If you wish her to play with them, let her....it might teach her the appreciation of the cards at an early age.
Again, if you fall under the sway that the cards have their own energies and are not a focussing tool, then perhaps you should include the tarot deity in your pantheon and make offerings....seems a little senseless doesn't it?

Don't worry about what others say about demons. The are brainwashed like so many others.
Here's what I do. I have cards that I give readings with that I do allow the questioner to handle. They shuffle and cut and I give the reading. This allows some of their energy to enter the cards. I also have special decks that only I am allowed to touch. I just don't do readings for strangers with them. And I keep them in a special place.
Also you can, and should "cleanse" your Tarot decks regularly. I do mine every few weeks. It'll help remove any negative energies that others have inadvertently left behind.
Ultimately, it's your decision whether you let others touch your cards.
Blessings, W.

There is no good or bad power in a deck of cards. The energy is in your psychic senses when viewing the cards. I’ve been a professional reader for over twenty five years and have never worried about who touches my cards. It can be a good exercise when reading for a client face to face to allow the client to shuffle the cards. It will relax them, there is no bad energy. There is only the light – god – goddess –all that is. There is the force or a lack of it. NO evil power. Evil is just in the mind and actions of silly people who lack the light. And it’s also found in the mind and actions of a lot of religious fanatics of many faiths. You can turn on the light in a darkened room and it is illuminated. You can’t turn on the dark. All that can be done is the light is turned off. Remember, the power (The Light) is in you, (and your daughter) not the cards. http://www.psychic-junkie.com/am-i-psychic.html

I let my kids touch my cards, look at them and such, but not disrespect them. What I mean is if they want to throw them on the floor or use them as Frisbees, they are not allowed. If they want to look through the cards and see the pictures (I have The Tarot of the Old Path) then that is fine with me. The poster above mentioned cleansing and yes, this is also important maintenance for your cards to keep the engeries balanced and get true readings.

I'll put it simply. The cards are read off of the energy we give it. Having you daughter touch them would put her energy into it. Nothing bad will come from the cards, but perhaps a false reading. This is true of whomever touches your cards besides you and the person you are reading.
But being so young she might not understand that they aren't toys or playing cards. Teach her to respect them. And maybe teach her how to read them. Don't ban her from them, she'll only get curious and do something she shouldn't do.
And yes, "cleanse" them after every reading.....any remnants of any energy placed on them can give a false reading.

If you read for others, as well as yourself (when you do open them) then sure, let them shuffle the cards. You can always smudge and cleanse the deck after each reading, or you can keep a deck you read for others with and one for yourself. I personally collect different decks, so I probably have 30 different decks. I can give you a (free) sample reading so you can get the Idea if you like. My Contact info is in my profile.

Our energies leave through our hands, fingers, and feet.
Energies can be good or bad.
Little kids are pure at heart. Their energies are pure. Probably won't affect the vibrations of your tarot cards.
But I would kept it in a place out of hands of anyone.

If you let others(strangers) touch the cards you will get their vibes on them, and it may influence your readings. But as far as your daughter touching them, she's your little girl so it's okay.

As long as they are in their case, fine.
There is a belief that the cards will bond with the dealer of them. Letting other people touch them may corrupt that bond
