hi, i am a working girl,, so am fiancially independent, but apart from this usual independency,,,i like to be emotional independent too. Not that i don't love people around me,,but i hate to have sticks. i don't like sympathy, i hate when somebody tries to be very intimate, just coz i am a girl.
People feel i am too egoist,,,but i know, that i am not, It's just that i have a sense of self respect and i love that.
is it bad?

Its not bad at all. You're me. Its uncanny. I have the same problem and sometimes people see me as cold-hearted because I don't wear my emotions on my sleeve like a 'woman' is supposed to. I think that the people you are around would like for you to respect their individuality, but they should respect your as well. There is no wrong or right way to be. Its a part of what makes you who you are, not a cookie cutter image of someone else. While it can cause problems, try working through them while maintaining your uniqueness. Its not bad to be independent:)

Yes, it is. The term too independent means crossing limits. Independence its not like living the way we like, its living the right way without disturbing others or causing harm to society and environment. Thats were the balance should be.

If you are too independent then you will have to go through life dealing with everything yourself. Which makes for one lonely life i think but being strong is good but also letting others help isn't a bad thing.

Nothing wrong with self respect. Intimacy (whether physical or emotional) should be entered into slowly and with caution.
That does not mean, however, that you must be or should be isolated. Spending casual time with trusted people allows you to build connections that may or may not later develop into deeper relationships.

Being independent is a wonderful thing, I know cause I am also. But with a guy, even if you don't want to, just act somewhat dependent. Men like to feel like they are your protectors and when you don't need them around and don't stroke their ego's, they'll leave you high and dry. With women friends, if they don't like you, it's just jealousy talking then.
