I don't think it is either. Might not be the smartest to marry your first love right away. But doubt it is rare or all that common.

Depends how old you know your first love. It is unlikely to marry their first love if they fell in love at the age of 16 of course. If the couple fell in love at their mature age why not? There are people who have never met their right one for a very long time. The wise would not jump right into the tomb of marriage just because of peers and social pressure.

Well, I dated my first love 5 years, got married for 5 years and promptly divorced his butt. It's not a common thing for people to do, there are lots of people out there so I believe young people should play the field a bit and not get roped into a marraige that you are too young for and end up with a messy divorce and children to care for.

Not so much anymore. I would say if you truly feel in your soul that this is the person you're meant to be with for life, then do it. Don't do it just so that you can say you married your 'high school sweetie' and then regret your life being miserable trying to impress all your friends. =)

I don't think so. People date alot until they find "the one".
There are some people who date in high school, then the first one they went out with, they marry.
