Yes. No matter how much I reassure myself or no matter how much time I take to relax I ALWAYS have stage fright of different extremes.
However sometimes I find the 'stage fright' gives me adrenaline which helps me to perform at me best.
The answer to your question ie how do you overcome it: basically close your eyes and think of all the rehearsals that you have done. It doesn't make all your nervousness go but it definitely helps.

Nope... I have to wear glasses and I don't put them on when I'm in front of lots of people because it helps everybody become a big blur... you can't see any individual face so you just forget about it... also, if you have stage fright, I found that saying the French alphabet helps... if you don't know the French alphabet, try thinking of a word for every letter in the alphabet... or just take a deep breath and wipe it all away from your mind.

I only experience stage fright when the audience is small; rehearsal is always hard for me, but being on stage in front of a huge audience and bright lights....now that's power! The real show itself cures my rehearsal fright in a way :)

I do have stage fright, but usually going on with a lot of my friends on stage clears this a bit. Like with karaoke.
But when you have to go on stage alone.
It helps when at first your friends and family sit on the first row at your first performance and then they should gradually move back like on the fourth performance on the 2nd row and so on...

yes i have stage fright...
overcoming it is not easy... you can try to imagine the audience in thier underwear (it works for some people, not me though)
what works for me is imagining the audience as your friends and people you feel comfortable with and just talk (or act) as if you are interacting with them in your everyday life...
it will be kind of hard at first but you'll get the hang of it...
Good Luck...

I used to .. so bad that I would want to pee in my pants. But not anymore. I love the feeling of exhiliration just before I perform. I think it comes from being confident or not. If you don't know your stuff, it is the worst. When u practice in the mirror, just picture how much everyone is admiring you. think positive thoughts. The crowd is wowed by your charisma and your abilitiy. They think you are a brilliant performer .. it does the trick. You will do BRILLIANTLY... believe in yourself and speak to people before your performance who have full confidence in you. If you have never done this stuff before. just give yourself a shot of courage by speaking positively to yourself and take a deep breath before you begin. The butterfies in the stomach will last for the first 10 seconds and then you will be like a plane soaring in the sky.

Yes, but I am trying to overcome it by taking Toastmasters. It's a club that meets once a week to help on public speaking by giving speeches in front of people, conquering your fears on it, and it teaches leadership skills which is the awesome thing.

no i just got used to it singing and doing things on stage all my life. try focusing on 1 person n the audiunce or just realize it took more courage to get on stage than to be one of the ones watching it.
