I cannot and I would generally not wish to know others thoughts on a daily basis. It would be just too much.
.
But I know an amazing person who did have such an ability and she assured me that I would not want to know what was going on in other peoples minds because most people's minds are undisciplined and their thoughts scattered, random and nonsensical. She found it incredibly distracting and invasive if she was unable to block out anothers thoughts.
.
I believe if someone is single minded enough you will know their primary thought. Whether this pleases you or not depends on what that thought is. I prefer to have the inability to spelunk into others minds. The alternative is to have to work constantly, like my friend, to close off an aspect of yourself which you would normally choose to have open. It requires quite a deal of self discipline which could be challenged and indeed fail during times of great distress. I have enough to deal with with my own thoughts on a daily basis without enduring the invasion of many others thoughts as well. I think it could be a slippery slide of a ride to madness.

Depressed, probably. I'm depressed by my own thoughts, I can't-and don't-want to imagine what anyone else could be thinking. There are some sick people out there. Sometimes it not be so bad, because some people (guilty) obsess about inconsequential, mundane things. Some talk to themselves (guilty) inside their heads. And then there are some who can't stand up for themselves and say what they really want to say inside their heads. (Not guilty anymore) But it's people like that I worry about most. Suppressed anger and resentment usually leads toward violence-I'd be afraid of those thoughts more than anything else.

I have weird thoughts and I bet others do to... I'm a very curious person and I like picking people's brains so wouldn't it be the ultimate to do that? It'd probably make me laugh on the inside... but at other times, who would want to know what goes on in the mind of teenage guys?

Well! It is a punishment if you bother about someone so much in general becoz it is rare to find people you trust and love. On top of that, getting to know the minds would be another headache. Just live ur life kingsize! It is always wise to live in a world of illusions when you know the realities are too hard to face!

I think some people would really freak me out. Maybe if it was something that I could turn on and off I might like it, but something I couldn't control I just wouldn't be able to handle hearing all that stuff. Sometimes the truth can hurt.

Neither, it what just confirm what I already know. That I am just really weird. I believe most people would be depressed they usually believe what people tell them or how they act toward them, but if you read someones body language or there eyes(the window to the soul) or just trust their instincts you will know what they are thinking.

You sound like the person who called in to a certain radio show asking how were are able to do such. God appoints people to His holy office and he gives them gifts according to His will. Spiritual gifts include: the gift of healing, discernment, the ability to cast out devils, speaking in different tongues and a specific prayer language called praying in God's holy tongue. Discernment is one that when we pray for people, God will reveal specific things about the person. WE DO NOT SIT THERE AND READ YOUR MINDS- It is God who reveals these things to us. I have problems with my friends who believe that I have some sort of X-ray vision. It does not work like that.
That helps people to know the spiritual roots of their problems.

Probably depressed because even though someone may like you, everyone has an opinion about something a person says or does. Opinions hurt more than anything.

I do not want to have that ability. In the end I will be the one ultimatley affected. What if my mom thought something bad about me or my daughter was calling me out of my name when I spoke to her. That would hurt my feelings. Some things are best left unknown.
what you don't know, won't hurt.

Bored...Bored to tears.
For every chance to peek into the mind of an Einstein, you'd have to put up with tons of the mental equivalent of either a porn flick, or sesame street.
That and test patterns.
