At 8 weeks pregnant I found some blood when going to the toilet. For the next 3 days I found spotting of blood.. became brownish and then disappeared. I was sent to emergency at hospital and found out that the baby was still there. Since then I never had any more bleeding. Now I'm 18 weeks pregnant and every month I go to my doctor everything seems ok. At first at hospital they thought I was having a miscarriage but I didn't. Till now when I go to the toilet I'm still scared with the idea of seeing blood again. Could that have meant that I may have a miscarriage or something wrong in my pregnancy?

It could mean a lot of things. I had some light bleeding around 10 or 11 weeks that my doctor said was likely associated with the corpus luteual cyst rupturing (when you ovulate, a little cyst forms on the ovary where the egg matures and comes out of. Then the little cyst is called a corpus luteum and produces hormones for 2 weeks or so, until a fertilized egg can implant in the uterus. In some women, that corpus luteum doesn't just dissolve after the egg implants. Then, a few weeks later, it ruptures. This can cause spotting.). So that's one possibility. Another is a temporary drop in hormone levels. Another possibility is some sort of strain on the cervix (from sex, a bowel movement, etc).

The fact that you made it past 13 weeks greatly decreased the risk of miscarriage. If your doctor isn't worried, I would suggest you try not to worry either. (I know, it's impossible. I worried about one thing or another every day until I deliever . . . and every day since!)

Try not to worry. I had this same thing happen to me and everything was fine. Bleeding can occur for various reasons - sex can aggravate the sensitive cervix, overactivity, pushing yourself too hard etc. And sometimes people have bleeding right around the time their period would have started.
What is important is that you've been to the doctor several times since then and everything seems to be okay. Lots of people have spotting and go on to carry to full term and have healthy babies.
It sounds like everything is fine to me. And in a couple more weeks you'll get to find out whether you're having a boy or girl!

I went through this very thing when i was pregnant.I bled alot a few times. The first time it happened it was because of sex.The second and third time i started to bleed it just happened for no reason, the doctor said it could be because i was pregnant be for and they had to take the baby at 13 weeks because of medical problems.I was devastated. Then i got pregnant again had a miscarriage at 4 months because my water broke. On top of all that i had three c-cections 13years ago before this baby. The doctor at the er said the bleeding could be from scar tissue on my uterus, from just any one of those things. He also said it just happens sometimes they cant explain why.Don't worry everything will be fine.I was i have a three in a half old baby girl. She was 10lbs.6.3oz when she was born.Just take it easy.

I suggest you take it easy now. What you have is called break though bleeding I had that early in my pregnancies and the doctor said for me to take things easy. Don't work to hard and rest a lot that's all I can suggest. By the way all my pregnancies turn out fine when I did that. Also ask your doctor if you should be having sex too when your pregnant. It doesn't hurt to ask questions like that no matter how stupid they are.

if they have not found or said there is a problem do not worry or cause yourself stress if there was a problem they would know so just chill and take it easy. I have known a woman who bled here and there through her pregnancy and all was well

Congratulations and Good Luck

If the baby is developing fine, ther is probably nothing wrong. Some women have a period after they concieve.
