Well, Iverson wanted to play, they wouldn't let him. They also didn't invite those other players you mentioned, but they did invite Shaq, but you know his body couldn't take any more basketball this season. It just shows that team basketball usually beats the best players in the long run. Some of these international teams been together for 10 years.
It also show just how great that first Dream Team was. Superstars who knew the team game.

not all of those players were invited to play on the USA team. Its obvious that the USA team has the potential and talent to be the best team in the world , but they just havent been playing togehter for the last 10 years. They've spent about 3-4 weeks playing together.

Why waste their talent, when the young ones took care of buisness. We may not get the God but we kicked some seriouse butt. Besides this team will have a chance to come back when they are more mature and take it to another level. Our Championship is the only thing that matters to me.

It doesn't show that the NBA level is equal to any european league or that NBA players are overpaid.
It just shows that having the best players don't necessary give you the best team.
