It's not rare - but they did wait a little while before telling you. If you love your father then don't let this come between you. He's still the same man who was always there for you before.

It's quite rare, I think most people are raised by their biological father and if don't they will know they are not.

People adopt children is very common thing. All married couples do not have their own children, or we can say they are not been gifted children by the God.

Your case is different, Now you should more respect to that person who is not your bilogical Father than your biological father.

no probably not. your grandparents were of the belief that a child out of wedlock, was a sin, thus doing everything they could to keep it a secret. if he's been a good father to you and a good husband to your mother, does it really matter? what you do with the information is key to your happiness.

It happens all the time, but it's rare to discover. If you're an undiscovered bastard, everybody's ready to avert their eyes, and the laws are written to accomodate this.

shouldn't be.one time while visiting my dad's house,he and my mom were separated, his new girlfriend who was pregnant at the time asked me how i would feel if i found out that my dad wasn't really my dad? i simply told her that he is the only father i know so what difference would it make to me? i told my dad and of course he said he is my dad but he also told me that some of his kids he knew he had,'t fathered but he said it was not the child's fault and it didn't hurt him to be called daddy, in fact he loved it....
