If you want to party, Lebanon is your choice (still is, even with the war). Syria is in general a more closed society, but also more spiritual. Jordan is a mix between the two, and is quite laid back.

I have lived 6 years in jordan ,2 years in syria,and 7 years in lebanon and believe Lebanon is the best.If you go to lebanon you will fall in love with it and you will want to go there every summer.Its like europe and it has wonderful people.

Jordan - good central location with overland access to Syria, Israel, And Egypt.

SYRIA!!!!! i love it! and i've asked my friend (whose lived in all three)and she said that syria has the nicest people.
Hard to stay there but when you get there you won't want to leave. Jordon is blaugh. and Lebanon is so.....so un-middle-eastern.
