When I first started my cycle it was very irregular a few of my friends had the same thing happen to them. I didn't have mine for 3 months and then when it did come it came for 17 days (yes I counted) then it was gone and then after a couple months of that it became "normal". Your cousin is fine, her body is just trying to sought itself out.

It is normal fr the cycles to be irregular initially ,But it's Not normal to skip fr So long . It would Be Better to consult a gynaecologist ,who might Set up a few tests to see wht's wrong. There is no harm in Tlkin to a doctor .

Visit Physician to rule out
Genital Tuberculosis
Thyroid problems
Polycystic ovarian disease(PCOD)
Malnutrtion(underweight)
Anorexia Nervosa (Figure conscious Girls)

if no such reason ...read following and Just Relaxxxx!!

PHYSIOLOGY of menarche(onset of menstruation)is...
there is one axis in our body called HPO(hypothalamo-pituitary-ovar... axis)... which when gets activated leads to puberty changes in a girl...menstruation is one of the sign(beside development of breast, appearance of axillary-pubic hairs) that this axis(Central) become active and the peripheral genital tract(ovary-uterus-functioning inner lining of uterus-patent vagina) properly functioning....

so it's proven that the girl have all these thing normal!!
congrats...

but it's just activation.... NOT MATURATION OF HPO AXIS...
It matures in few years(average 2yrs)...till then menses are irregular in 1)..duration and ammount of bleeding 2)..interval between two cycles...

So... Have a Patience...and give minimum Health education to your cousin

When girls first start its common for them to be irregular in their cycles. It should straighten out within a year or two. Although some women just get used to never knowing when it will happen.

hi, your worry is genuine. although a girl's periods may be irregular in starting years, but its a long time. a girl might also be pregnant, but as u said that it is a problem since too much time, so nothing to worry in that area. as i think, it is a problem, you must consult the doctor, but also take your cousion in confidence. she might be feeling very unhappy and feared. tell her, everything will b fine, its normal, but u must consult the doctor for security reasons.

Periods are often irregular for some time after they begin. However, it would be wise to see a doctor to find out if there is a problem.

no it is very normal to skip months in your period when you first get it. But if she has been sexually active then i would be worried because there is a chance that she might be pregnant. I hope this helps you.
