Don't take it back to best buy. That's crappy. do a system restore to the most recent point before you brought it there.
start - all programs - accessories - system tools - system restore
get a spyware remover yourself. check out stopzilla. i believe its like $30 or so, but it's amazing at what it does.

Most Likely best buy has installed an Anti Spy program on your system. Check out the bottom left corner of the screens for any new icons or u can right click your mouse over these icons to see what they are about. If you find an Anti spy software then deactivate it temporarily . Deactivate/Close any programs from the bottom left corner that you are not using and watch ur comp zoom up on speed. Alternatively u can increase ur RAM capacity. Thats what Best buy will recommend.

First things first, find out HOW much RAM you originally had. When they tested it again, did they open it up and place something in then take something out again? There is benchmarking software out there for you too use. You can get it for free (in a way). Go to the store and buy an issue of Maximum PC. The CD one not the one without, it'll contain the proper benchmarking software for you to test out your system. As for spyware, you could have done that yourself. Here's how to save yourself the grief and aggravtion from it all again:
Spybot Search and Destroy 1.4
http://www.safer-networking.org
Ad-AwareSE 1.6 Personal
http://www.lavasoft.com
and if you don't have a antivirus software installed on your system:
Avast Home 4.6 (register to receive free updates for a year, loads fast than Norton's crapware)
http://www.avast.com
When downloading these, also download and install the updates BEFORE you run the scans and such.

Best Buy is not the best place for repairs. Ram should always be the max possible. Your power source is not adequate at home. If it is plugged into the wall you need the outlet tested. A tool from radio shack is less than ten dollars.

They probably added a spyware remover or something. Check out the icons in the system tray (area around the clock).

I have to agree with two things others have said:
1. Don't take it back to Best Buy.
2. They probably installed an anti-virus program on your system.
I wish I knew of a good program that would help.

More than anything else I would recommend formatting your hard disk and reinstalling windows. I do it once a month and I find that my system speed almost doubles after every time i format the hard disk and reinstall windows

I think you should have one of their technicians make a house call, and see what is happening under actual conditions at your home.
