A speeding ticket, boyfriend breaks up with me, another sky high phone bill, car breaks down and I can't get to work.
Actually, this did happen to me on Friday. I had this good job at work and they eliminated 3 positions. So, I had to take a position in another dept. So now I am going to bring home 400 dollars less a month. I know that doesn't sound like a lot. But I am a single parent. So, 400 helps with the groceries and school stuff. Anything extra was supposed to go for school clothes that they will need. I had this job for two months so its not like I was getting used to the extra money I brought home. Well, now I am having to consider getting a second job or go back to school. Yea, right. More time away from my kids. Like they really need that. So, yes...that totally ruined my day. NO! Actually, that totally ruined the rest of the year because now I will come up short each payday. That's worse than living paycheck to paycheck! Don't cry for me, though. I have been supporting the three of us by myself for the past 13 years. So, I am used to financial woes.

Something BIG, bcuz I'm very patient and optimistic.
If I caught my spouse cheating or my daughter having sex! If a loved one died or I lost a pet, the day & then some would definitely be ruined.
Anything short of that, would just slow me down a bit but wouldn't ruin my entire day.

To be berated by an incompetent superior or to have my daughter be all whiny and cranky because she is sleepy. I've learned to nip those in the bud.
