Hormones, girl!!!! Be glad you didn't start getting them until now. The best route is to tweeze or wax them. Just don't shave them...it makes dark spots on your skin. Electrolysis and bleaching cream can also cause dark spots on Black skin. Lots of beauty salons and nail salons offer waxing. Note: Don't try waxing if you're diabetic. Good luck!

Hormonal imbalance, due to peri-menopause. Estrogen fades as you get ready to start a period. Estrogen helps keep insulin under control. Insulin, thus, can go wild. The purpose of insulin is to open the "cell's mouths" to let food and water in. Thus, insulin is madly tucking food and water in cells, causing other chemical overproduction and weight gain. That is what causes "middle-age spread".
Regarding the hair on the chin, that could be because the overproduction of insulin may cause an underproduction another chemical that turns testosterone into feminine hormones. It was that in my case anyway, low progesterone (possibly the cause of my DUB) and high testosterone. I just pluck like you, and note that after a while the one you are plucking goes away - but because I have accidentally plucked some non-dark ones, they turn dark. I use Nair on my moustache, when I get frustrated with it.

Girl, It is part of life, hormones and losing estrogen can cause it menopause.... You can chose to leave it alone, pluck it,shave it or wax it. Look around there are many bearded ladies. Some with evidence of where one was and believe me where it will be again.Mantainance is the key. Be careful about lasers and electrolysis as an African American those type treatments tend to scar us. I find that it bugs women more than the men they are with.
